Offer Your Support
The Greater Woods Bay Sewer Committee, Lake County, the Woods Bay Homesites Water and Sewer District and the Sheaver’s Creek Water and Sewer District are all working together to find and secure project funding. Currently, efforts are being focused on federal funding requests that will fund continued study and investigation to allow for this project to become a reality. By contacting your legislative delegation and expressing your support for this project, you can help ensure continued project momentum. Contact information is presented below. You can e-mail, fax or mail your show of support. You should considering including some or all of the following points in your communication:

• You are writing in support of the Greater Woods Bay Wastewater System Project. (it is important to use this name for the project on the subject line and in any reference to the project)

• Flathead Lake and local groundwater supplies are being degraded by nutrients from on-site wastewater treatment systems in the Greater Woods Bay Area.

• The project will result in removing thousands of pounds of nutrients from Flathead Lake and the local groundwater each year.

• The project supports other on-going regional efforts to improve Flathead Lake water quality, including the Clean Water Act Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) process.

• This is more than a local issue: Flathead Lake water quality affects the economy of the entire NW Montana area and Flathead Lake water quality affects downstream water users in Idaho and Washington.

• You encourage your congressional delegation to support funding for continued progress on this project through WRDA or STAG grant funding.

Add your own reasons or points for supporting the project as you see fit. Please send a copy of any correspondence you send to the Montana Delegation to Paul Rana at montanar@aol.com.
